Yes, food does tend to stick to the grate but the Nexgrill 5 isn’t alone in this regard.
Finally, this grill uses propane. We highlight this because if you are after the smoky taste that charcoal provides, you will be a bit disappointed.
The food tastes great, don’t get us wrong, but we feel it lacks a bit of the BBQ taste.

You will also find that food sticks to the grates more than it probably should.
All that being said, we do think this grill is a good performer overall. It is reasonably priced and if you can look past some of its downsides, you can enjoy deliciously cooked food on a large grill without having to spend a huge sum of money.
